  • 1770golf Hole #1

    Hole #1

    Par – 3

    1st – 185 Metres / 202 Yards

    10th – 172 Metres / 188 Yards

A straightforward hole with elevated green sloping back to front. Short is best if you cannot hit the green allowing a variety of shots to any pin position. Shots that fall off the back edge of the green, roll down the steep slope. The left side miss of the green presents the easier side to chip from, as the right side presents a more difficult proposition. Note that left of the tree line is Out Of Bounds, (Driving Range).

  • 1770golf hole 2

    Hole #2

    Par – 5

    2nd – 404 Metres/ 442 Yards

    11th – 394 Metres / 431 Yards

The second is a risk-reward hole that rewards the longest carry from the tee, leaving nothing but a mid-iron to wedge. The easiest route for most players is the centre left side of the fairway. Note the dam left side of fairway from the tee area.

The green follows the lead of the fairway unguarded by any bunkers, the approach can be high or low. The green slopes back to front and right to left. A swale from the right front can be used to shape the ball back towards the centre of the green. Keep the ball below the hole always, allowing for a more aggressive first putt.

  • 1770golf Hole #3

    Hole #3

    Par – 3

    3rd – 133 Metres / 145 Yards

    12th – 143 Metres / 156 Yards

The third hole plays down slightly, but still to an elevated green sloping back to front. Little more than a mid-iron to wedge into the green, tempts the player to fire at the pin, but accuracy is a must as the slopes left right & beyond are treacherous for a recovery shot. Short front is a very smart play.

  • 1770golf Hole #4

    Hole #4

    Par – 4

    4th – 248 Metres / 271 Yards

    13th – 257 Metres / 281 Yards

One of the signature holes of the course, this beautiful short par 4, allows so many choices from either tee. Anything from a mid-iron to wedge into this severely sloping elevated green with a severe bunker protecting the right side, will challenge every level of player. Risk-reward again tempts the longer hitter to attack the green from the tee, often resulting in a wet ball, as the dam from end of the left fairway extending along the left side of the green does not allow a recovery shot. Centre left side of fairway allows for the best approach angle. Sloping back to front and away to left, even presents difficulty for recovery shots around the green. Front short again is an opportunity for an easier chip shot or putt.

  • 1770golf Hole #5

    Hole #5

    Par – 3

    5th – 141 Metres / 155 Yards

    14th – 151 Metres / 165 Yards

Straight forward Par 3, with a devilish bunker on the right, encourages the player to favour the left side, however the slope off the green will take the ball into a collection area that is never easy to recover from. There is a hazard in the trees short left of the green. Again front short favouring the left side away from the bunker allows for a simple shot to the pin.

  • 1770golf Hole #6

    Hole #6

    Par – 3

    6th – 154 Metres / 168 Yards

    15th – 140 Metres / 153 Yards

Back-to-back par 3’s test the concentration of every player. This is the hole that puts everyone on edge as the tee shot requires precision if you are to hold the green. Designed to catch the weak push, avoid the water right that goes from front to rear of the green off a steep short slope, collecting any shot right down into the hazard. Once again front short allows for an easy approach to the pin if you cannot reach the green with your tee shot.

  • 1770golf Hole #7

    Hole #7

    Men Par – 4 / Ladies Par – 5

    7th – 399 Metres / 436 Yards

    16th – 335 Metres / 366 Yards

The seventh hole is a strategic dogleg. The water in front of the tee intimidates the higher handicap player, creating anxiousness before the shot is hit. The 16th tee presents an easier tee shot. It is essential to find the fairway on this very tight hole, with short runout on the right side of the fairway, leaving a more difficult second shot. Longer hitters are tempted to hit over the left trees, but the penalty for a misplaced shot is severe, the reward, nothing more than a short iron into the accessible green. Often played as a 3 shot hole for the club golfer, the green sloping back to front allows for a running shot to be played. A bunker on the left is a fairly simple proposition for most players.

  • 1770golf Hole #8

    Hole #8

    Par – 4

    8th – 238 Metres / 260 Yards

    17th – 258 Metres / 282 Yards

A reprieve after the difficult seventh hole, at first glance this straight short downhill hole leaves nothing from a mid-iron to wedge into the green, however the bunker front right can be a severe penalty. The drive off the tee should favour the left side, giving the best line into the tricky green. The green slopes back to front and the safe area is left. Longer hitters are tempted to go for the green, but a misplaced shot can result in much trouble.

  • 1770golf Hole #9

    Hole #9

    Par – 5

    9th – 488 Metres / 534 Yards

    18th – 478 Metres / 523 Yards

Another signature hole, especially into a setting sun, this beautiful par 5 gives all players the opportunity to score well. The dam on the left side is your target line from the tee, but you must avoid the trees on the left. The trees on the right do not allow for an easy layup. Finding the more generous fairway, allows for a 3 or 4 shot hole to the green. The longer hitter can go for the green in two. There is plenty of danger as the misplaced shot can find water front & right before you get within reach of the green. The layup before the creek crossing is very tight. Elevated narrow green sloping front to back can create difficult recovery shots. Once again short front allows for an easier chip shot.
