Town of 1770 Golf Course » Latest News http://www.1770golf.com.au Only golf course in Agnes Water/1770 Sun, 26 Jan 2020 05:11:53 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.2.1 Junior Summer Classic – January 21st – 23rd http://www.1770golf.com.au/2019/11/junior-summer-classic-january-21st-23rd/ http://www.1770golf.com.au/2019/11/junior-summer-classic-january-21st-23rd/#comments Tue, 26 Nov 2019 02:17:32 +0000 admin http://www.1770golf.com.au/?p=711 The inaugural Macdonald and Michel Lawyers Pty Ltd 1770/Agnes Water Junior Summer Golf Classic was held last week and what a fantastic 3 days of golf was had by both players and parents.  The weather was not the kindest however the enthusiasm of the juniors made up for the heat.  For our local players, Hannah & Param, it was their first taste of junior golf competition and all the practice paid off when Hannah was awarded the 6 hole girls champion scoring a 73 over the 2 days and Param the 6 hole boys runner up with an 88 for the 2 days play.  Hannah also won the longest drive and pin shot for the 6 hole girls on day 1 and Param won the 6 hole boys longest drive on day 2.  The 18 holes girls A Grade champion was won by Aimee Garland from Maryborough with a gross 167 for the 2 days and the 18 holes boys A Grade champion went to Ben Duncombe from Coral Cove with a round of 139 off the stick at conclusion of the 2 days.  Thank you to Shelley Scott & Derran Corke, organisers for the Classic and also to major sponsors, Macdonald and Michel Lawyers, Agnes Water Tavern and CQ Diesel Fitting and supporting businesses, Sandcastles 1770, Floorzone, Caltex, Pavillions on 1770, Ray White & Ashmore Palms Holiday Village.  Thank you to all the juniors who participated we look forward to seeing everybody next year!

Our top mens qualifiers for 2019, Ashley & Brett Newstead went on to win the CQ 4BBB final at Capricorn Resort in early November with a great round of 51 points.  Well done Ashley & Brett, look forward to another great competition in 2020!

2019 Club Champions

Our Club Championships are being held on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd August in 2020.  18 holes each day with tee offs at either 8:30am or 12:30pm.  Good luck to all members for 2020!

Bomber Classic Winners 2018

Local Ambulance Committee (LAC) Vice President Clarrie (Bomber) Brown is held on the first Sunday in September each year.  Due to the unforeseen circumstances the 2019 event was cancelled but will be back again in 2020!

Our LAC liaises between the community and the QAS to promote community participation in and an awareness of ambulance services.  All funds raised from activities are retained locally to purchase extra equipment and relevant supplies that the dedicated officers request from time to time.  These items enhance the service to the community by way of best patient care and practices.   The LAC organises first aid courses and CPR updates for the community and have a range of first aid kits available for sale to the local community.  The golf day is always greatly supported by players from our local community, reaching from Baffle Creek, Lowmead, Captain Creek, Agnes Water & 1770, all within the area serviced by our local QAS officers.

Congratulations to the winning team for 2018 with a score of net 50 7/8, Glen , Geoff , John & Vic.  Good Luck to all players in 2020!

2019 Volkswagen Scramble winners
